The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs is mandated to oversee the welfare and good governance of the iTaukei communities, through policy development and program implementation. The function and services provided by the ministry are as follows: provide advice and assistance on iTaukei issues, promote and uphold the Public Service Values and the Public Service Code of Conduct, Adjudicate over land ownership/FISHING Rights and Customary chiefly positions, Custodian of iTaukei Cultural Registers, Promote and safeguard iTaukei Culture and Language & Monitoring and Evaluation.

Activities
· Policy advice
· Implementation of government and other stakeholders programs
· Represent the iTaukei population in relation to policy issues
· Adjudicates on disputes regarding land ownership, fishing rights and customary chiefly positions and arbitrates appeals on judgments made by the iTaukei Lands and Fisheries Commission.
· Maintain and regularly update various cultural significant registers
· Facilities the demarcation and survey of iTaukei land
· Culture Mapping (establishing a database on Traditional Knowledge and Expressions of Culture)
· Adopt and support the Public Service Values and Code of Conduct
