Kazakhstani photographer Dmitry Rugis’ journey to the sacred Aulietau mountain in Ulytau profoundly changed his life and career. Formerly a miner, Rugis turned to photography after a spiritual experience during a pilgrimage to the mountain, known as a historical and sacred site tied to ancient legends and Kazakh identity. \nHis work now focuses on capturing Kazakhstan’s intangible cultural heritage—its sacred landscapes, historical monuments, rituals, and everyday people. Through exhibitions, festivals, and collaborations with cultural institutions, Rugis preserves and promotes Ulytau’s legacy and national traditions for future generations.

Located in the east of Lam Kinh historical site, the site of the Le dynasty in Vietnamese history, Xuan Pha village, Xuan Truong commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province also retains ancient and mysterious folk performances until today. In this celebration, the neighboring countries came to bring offerings to pay tribute to the King of Vietnam. They performed congratulatory mask dances at the traditional village festival. The film demonstrates the efforts of the generations to maintain and transmit the performance to young people. They practice as their cultural expression that continues for generations.
