Bronze Casting in Đại Bái
The craft of mounding and bronze casting has been present in Đại Bái since the 10th century, under the Lý Dynasty, associated with the name and merit of the craft's ancestor Nguyễn Công Truyền. To create a bronze casting product, the craftsman must perform many complex and complex technical operations. The first step is to build the furnace (floating furnace and submerged furnace; the structure of the furnace includes the furnace body, a lid - cyclone, and an annular iron ring - rotating; the raw materials for making the furnace are pond mud and rice husks). Next is the product creation process including shaping to create a product model; creating molds to cast into bronze; preparing, cooking and pouring copper; engraving and arranging patterns on the surface of the product; polishing and coloring the product. When smelting copper, combine the appropriate ratio of copper, zinc, and a very small amount of lead; molding: creating a mold according to the shape of the item to be manufactured; inlaid: create an additional round inlaid sheet, hammer the product with a specialized hammer (awl - inlaid awl, mounding awl, barrier awl, parasol awl, patting awl), touch with a tick (brake tick, cupped tick, sharp tick), round, circle, pat the gums, roast, flatten, and cure. The finished product will be husked, washed to create shine, and burned with ironwood charcoal. The final step to create the finished product is flowering (which professionals call this). Techniques such as inlaid molding, copper manipulation, engraving embossed patterns, engraving sunken patterns, inlaying green copper, black copper on red copper, inlaying gold and silver on copper, etc are very good techniques, high in their bronze mounds. Products of Đại Bái bronze mound craft village are very diverse, such as household items (pots, trays, bowls, pots, urns), worship items, fine arts items, and musical instruments. Page themes are often chrysanthemums, clouds, patterns, string flowers, seal lines, stylized flowers and leaves, stylized animals, geometric shapes, bold lines, and thin lines. Products mainly serve religious and decorative needs. Dai Bai people always avoid "offending" the profession's ancestors.

Ipsajang (Silver or Gold Inlaying)
National Intangible Cultural Heritage, Republic of Korea Ipsajang refers to the skill of inlaying ornamental silver or gold string into a groove made on a metal surface, or to an artisan with such a skill. Objects made with this skill were among the relics unearthed from the sites of Lerang dating from the 1st or 2nd Century BC and from Silla (circa 57 BC – 935) tombs. There are two ways of making this ornamentation. One was a method which started during the Goryeo Period (877 – 1394) of inlaying ornamental silver or gold string into a groove made with a chisel on a metal surface. The other, which started toward the mid-Joseon Period (1392 – 1910), was to make a figure on a metal surface using a chisel, and fit thin silver/gold pieces into the space by striking with a hammer. The patterns thus made were chiefly apricot, orchid, chrysanthemum, bamboo, crane, deer, bat, tiger, and pine.

2020 ICH NGO Conference : ICH and Resilience in Crisis

ICH Video Production in the Asia-Pacific Region : Central Asia (Living Heritage : Wisdom of Life)
ICH Video Production in the Asia-Pacific Region : Central Asia\n\nRapid urbanization and westernization are changing the environments in which intangible cultural heritage is rooted. The importance of documentation that traces the effect of social changes on intangible cultural heritage is being emphasized as a safeguarding measure. Quality video documentation is an important resource that enables the conservation and transmission of existing intangible cultural heritage and raises its visibility.\n\nVideo documentation is the best medium to record intangible cultural heritage in the most lifelike manner, using the latest technologies. It is also an effective tool for communicating with the public. However, conditions for video production in the Asia-Pacific remain poor, requiring extensive support for quality video documentation.\n\nICHCAP has been working to build the safeguarding capabilities of Member States and raise the visibility of intangible cultural heritage in the Asia-Pacific by supporting the true-to-life documentation of intangible cultural heritage as this heritage is practiced and cooperating with experts, communities, and NGOs in related fields.\n\nSince 2010, ICHCAP has hosted annual Central Asian sub-regional network meetings with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Mongolia to support the ICH safeguarding activities of Central Asia. Through their collaboration, ICHCAP has supported projects involving collecting ICH information, producing ICH websites, and constructing ICH video archives.\n\nAt the Sixth Central Asia Sub-regional Network Meeting in Jeonju in 2015, ICHCAP, four Central Asian countries, and Mongolia adopted a second three-year cooperation project plan on producing ICH videos to enhance the visibility of ICH in Central Asia.\n\nICHCAP developed guidelines and training programs for the project and invited video and ICH experts from the participating countries, and held a workshop in November 2015. After the workshop, focal points for the project were designated in each country, and each focal point organization formed an expert meeting and a video production team to produce ICH videos.\n\nInterim reports were submitted to ICHCAP in February 2016, and the first preview screening was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, during the Seventh Central Asia Sub-regional Network Meeting in May 2016. Since then, each country has carried out the project according to the project plan. ICHCAP met with each country between October 2016 to February 2017 to check on the project progress.\n\nAfter the final preview screening during the Eighth Central Asia Sub-regional Network Meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in 2017, final editing process took place in each country, and fifty ICH videos were completed by October 2017.\n\nAll photos introduced on this page along with fifty ICH videos are from the exhibition 'Living Heritage: Wisdom of Life' held in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea. Safeguarding Intangible Heritage through Tertiary Education in Andhra Pradesh, IndiaTelugu language is the mother tongue for carriers and transmitters in safeguarding the Intangible Heritage of the Telugu people. We have come up with an interdisciplinary and innovative educational programming that safeguards our intangible heritage of over 53.6 million people in Andhra Pradesh (AP). Our higher educational programming cuts across the five domains delineated in the 2003 ICH Convention of UNESCO. It is an integral part of a systematic safeguarding plan that is unique. I will introduce the framework that enables us to bring together the teaching of intangible heritage in a linguistic environment through six tertiary educational institutions for the Telugu speaking people. I am responsible for the curricula, pedagogy, employment of carriers and transmitters as teachers and performance education in all the six colleges. \n\nWe also address the interface between intangible heritage and language through higher education. Moreover, I will also reflect on my own engagement as a carrier and transmitter of theatre traditions of the Telugu people. My conclusion would advocate that we need to think in new and innovative ways for safeguarding the rich diversity of the intangible heritage of humanity.
