Description Block printing has a long history in Central Asian textile tradition. It is established that samples of old block printed materials made by local craftsmen date back to 18th century. The bright background colours of most blockprinted fabrics were made by dying the fabrics before-hand with natural colours.Formerly in Uzbek block printing only the fabrics made of cotton were used, subsequently local masters learnt printing patterns in silk fabrics too. Block Printing Fabrics have their peculiar colors, the most widespread ones are red-black, blue-black (indigo) and yellow-black.
